My name’s Gareth Dafydd Morris. I’m a professional opera singer and was contracted to Welsh National Opera for 9 years until Christmas 2024. I’ve been very fortunate to work all over the world and to have a job which I love. I’ve performed over 75 roles in more than 6 languages, have recorded and broadcast internationally as well as having a huge concert/oratorio repertoire so have a wealth of experience to draw from.

My students range from 15 to retirement age and they are dotted across the globe.
My first lesson with a new student is always a sort of crash course of singing trying to cover all the basics in one hour so you get a real feel of how I work and, more importantly, how our lessons will be moving forward. We will always have a lot of fun and each lesson will feel rewarding.
A good technique and knowing how to breathe are the foundation for all types of singing which is why I teach across genre.

My students have been prepared for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity exams, over 300 exams taking place with a 100 percent pass rate from Grade 1 to 8 and diplomas in both boards. I have also numerous former students who I’ve prepared for Conservatoires and University for classical/opera singing as well as students who’ve gone on to study musical theatre and drama at all the major schools and academies. Current and former students are working internationally and in the West End, whilst others have also performed on X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

Lessons are £60 per hour.

Gareth has been such a big improver in my singing lessons. I feel better in myself when i sing now i have had lessons with him. He's very patient, very motivating and always see's room for improvement. His techniques are so helpful and different to what i've experienced before. I would highly recommend Gareth to anyone who wants to improve their singing, no matter what level you are. Having Gareth as you vocal coach makes you really feel like you will really improve as a singer.

He's a careful, attentive, and exacting teacher whose instruction has helped me improve tremendously. He's also disarmingly personable and charming, such that my stage fright (I've never sung publicly outside a choir, not even for family, and I'm pretty shy about it) vanished only a few minutes into our first lesson. By way of comparison, I haven't had instruction from any other professional opera singers, but I can confidently say that I learned more from him in the first 5 lessons than I did in all my lessons from amateurs combined, and he charges less than some of them did, the charlatans. My suggestion for new students is to listen carefully to his advice and don't delay doing what he tells you, because he's right.I strongly recommend him to anyone.
