Technical Software Documentation Officer

Description

Our client, a prestigious player in the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors, is currently seeking a Technical Software Documentation Officer to join their team on a contract basis in Bristol. This role involves ensuring the quality of software documentation, playing a crucial part in the software release process within these highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and maintaining comprehensive software documentationEnsuring all documentation adheres to quality standards before software releaseCollaborating with software developers to understand the documentation requirements for each projectReviewing and updating existing documentation to meet current standardsEnsuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness of all technical documentsManaging and organising document repositoriesFacilitating communication between various project stakeholders regarding documentation needsContributing to continuous process improvements for documentation management

Job Requirements:

Experience in software quality assurance and documentationStrong MS Office skills, particularly in Word and ExcelUnderstanding of the software development process and lifecycleProficiency in managing and organising technical documentsStrong attention to detail and problem–solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCapability to work independently and within a teamSecurity Clearance (SC) required to start, UK Eyes Only (UKEO)
