Description

Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a motivated System Design Engineer specialising in Image Processing and Control to join their dynamic team. This is a permanent role focused on the continued development of DragonFire into a world–class, deployable Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) air defence system.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage system requirements, verification, and compliance evolution against a rapid system baseline release scheduleGenerate detailed requirement sets based on various drivers and manage change over baselinesSupport system requirement flow–down through to design and implementation teamsInitiate and drive risk quantification and mitigation activities as trade studiesSupport technical mediation, communicating issues, architectures, and ideas at all levelsDisseminate technical information to stakeholders in an understandable mannerDevelop excellent working relationships with partners, key stakeholders, and team membersDesire to develop, build, and grow the Systems Design team as the project evolves

Job Requirements:

Experience in Systems V&V, Verification & Validation, Requirements, Verification Validation and Testing, and VerificationFamiliarity with Electronic Engineering requirements content and experience handling embedded software or firmware requirementsExperience developing complex systems design requirements, particularly for implementation in softwareExperience with system architecting tools such as DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody is desirableKnowledge of lasers and/or optical physics would be beneficialAbility to deliver required output within agreed timescales
