WILL POST - I can post this for £4.50 if paid for by bank transfer (Note: we only accept payment in cash on collection or by bank transfer if delivery agreed - no PayPal, card, or courier payment).

*
Acquired at a vide maison in Reims in the Champagne region, this is a 1950s enamel medical bowl, jug, basin, which apparently came from a local hospital.
It was then re-purposed as a Champagne racking basin, or bassin de soutirage, used during Champagne or wine production to catch spilled fluid when racking, repairing, or changing the tap on a barrel.
Latterly in recent years it has been an unusual planter.
Still watertight and sound in an attractive thick grey speckle enamel, it makes a great decorative French kitchenalia piece whatever it’s use…
*
In good vintage condition with wear and light rust consistent with its age and use - please examine photographs carefully for condition.
The enamel surfaces are bright and sound.
There are several areas of wear and a little rust but this is still sound and watertight - see photos.
The inside is clean and enamelled throughout.
The handle is strong.
The spout is similar with some rust to its edge.
The base is sound.
I can find no maker’s mark.

Measures approximately:
14 cm tall,
28 cm wide,
42 cm long handle to spout,
Weighs about 1 kg.
