LARGE VINTAGE FRENCH ALUMINIUM STOCK POT, MARMITE PAN, FAITOUT, CASSEROLE, BREAD BIN, CHOMETTE FAVOR - Diam 28cm H29cm 17.8 litre? - FRENCH KITCHENALIA

Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!

Part of our French kitchenalia collection, we got this from a vide maison in Bethune, Nord Pas de Calais.
It’s a large aluminium stock pot, marmite, faitout or casserole which the owner dated to around the 1990s.
Initially it was used by them for cooking but latterly as a bread bin - it’s just the right size to store demi-baguettes apparently.
A professional standard item made by the renowned French manufacturer CHOMETTE FAVOR and marked as such, it has a hand planished finish and strong aluminium handles.
A big pan with cylindrical dimensions of about 28cm diameter by 29cm tall which I’ve used an online calculator to give an approximate volume of about 17.8 litres (apparently you multiply the radius by height giving volume - I’m happy to be corrected!)
Now worn but very sound, it is watertight and still functional and also makes a great decorative piece of French kitchenalia, bread bin, storage jar or planter…

In good vintage condition with wear, scratches and staining but no damage - please examine photographs carefully for condition.
In more or less as found condition having just had a wash.
The aluminium is in good sound condition with some wear - see photos.
The lid is in similar sound condition with but a small dent to one edge - see photos .
The handles are worn but strong with no movement at the joints.
The interior is reasonably clean and sound with some wear and staining - see photos.
The base is worn but sound and watertight.
Marked CHOMETTE FAVOR to the left of one handle.

Measures approximately:
About 3-4mm thick,
28 cm diameter,
39 cm across handle to handle,
29 cm tall to pan edge, 32 cm with the lid on,
weighs about 2.9 kg.
