LARGE VINTAGE FRENCH GALVANISED PLANTER WASH TUB, DOLLY TUB, BATH TUB, L71cm Diam 61cm H34cm 6kg - 1930s - REDUCED!
WILL POST - I can post this for £17 if paid for by bank transfer. (Note - we only accept payment in cash on collection or by bank transfer if delivery agreed - no PayPal, card, or courier payment).
Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!
We got this from a brocante in Les Riceys in the Champagne region intending to use it as a planter but never got round to it.
A vintage French galvanised wash tub, dolly tub, tin bath dating to the 1930s, it’s a quality piece, larger and heavier than others I’ve seen and particularly well constructed with strong handles.
A useful size and showing an attractive patina, this is now probably destined for use as a planter, log bucket, water feature, or even perhaps an ice bucket for champagne…
In good sound condition with staining, rust and wear consistent with it’s age and use - please examine photos carefully for condition.
The photos best show the condition of this.
Solid and sound with no damage.
The handles are strong.
The interior base is worn with surface rust but sound with no holes.
NOTE: This appears to be watertight and has held water to the upper edge during recent heavy rain. It has no obvious holes and no light can be seen when upturned. However, all that said, I don’t guarantee it is watertight.
The underside has soot stains.
I can find no maker’s mark.
