Leaves & small branches from an Italian Olive tree recently pruned - see photo
Olive tree leaves can be used for many purposes eg
Turkish Cypriots have a custom called 'Tutsu' where burning olive leaves is a symbolic act for warding off the evil eye and protecting people in the house from harm.
Also used to make teas and in culinary purposes.
Used in traditional remedies as they are believed to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and other beneficial properties
In gardening as a ground cover 'mulch' they are fairly long lasting as the leaves are quite oily and take time to rot down.
