French Lilac, goat's rue, Galega officinalis plants £1-£6
SOMETIMES I may have the white-flowered form available.

What a stunner! Smothered in flowers each year for a long season, and the foliage is rich and green. Dying down to the ground each year, the new growth will CLAMBER up to about 2M, 6' (support appreciated, not self-clinging) Prop it against a fence, wall, or a shrub, wherever you'd like weeks of summer 2-tone coloured lilac flowers, and rich foliage over a longer period. The one I call '2-tone lilac', one customer said it was like a small wisteria... yeah, it is!!!
Being a legume it fixes nitrogen and does superbly even on the poorest soils.
All my 2-tone lilac plants were clones and I never had seeds. Then I also grew the white and purple form (from white seeds) and hey presto! I got seeds on all, so I assume it is just not self fertile. Therefore seeds WILL be hybrids and there's no way of knowing which flowers will come from them.... could be even better news for you!
This is an absolute delight and I'd not be without it.
I took loads of cuttings from the beautiful 2-tone lilac one, 1 and 2 years back and I have PLENTY to sell of all sized plants.
