Description
We have a 19th century John Brinsmead and Sons upright piano to give away. It has not been used in over 20 years and has just been collecting dust at home. Will need tuning.
We asked for a valuation from experts for it and received this message in reply:
"This attractive piano was made to a very good standard at some point in the mid 1880s and looks to be in well preserved condition.
Sadly, advancing technology, changing fashions and inexpensive imports from the Far East have taken a heavy toll and the hard reality is that instruments of this type no longer have any real value in the current marketplace.
At this point, donation to a new and appreciative home would be the kindest and most dignified course of action and I recommend local community notice boards to you as effective platforms.
This charming piano is straight strung, over damped and has a nicely cast, iron frame."
To collect from SW London, SW20 from the ground floor or a terraced home with a driveway. Piano removal to be arranged by whoever wants it.
