Bentley Compact 85C Upright, in bright mahogany with stool.
Very good condition, bought new in 1981.
Model no. 148013; S/N: 79367
This piano is overstrung or cross-strung, which is a specific arrangement of the strings where the bass strings cross over the treble strings diagonally, creating a richer and more resonant sound. This design maximizes string length for a given piano size, resulting in a fuller tone.
This piano is under-damped. Underdamped pianos have the dampers positioned below the hammers, making the damping action more efficient and resulting in a cleaner, clearer sound when a note is released.
The piano has a full cast iron frame. This allows the tensile force of the strings in the piano to be increased, thereby allowing an increase in the volume of sound.
Dimensions: Height 99cm (39 inch) x Width 139cm (54.8 inch) x Depth 52cm (20.5 inch) at its deepest part ie including the keyboard.
On the ground floor, so very easy access for removal.
Removal to be organised by buyer.
