Our Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners ranked client is seeking a Crime Billing Legal Aid, Costs Draftsperson to join their team, responsible for billing all criminal defence cases across a nationwide network of offices.

Your duties as a Crime Billing Legal Aid, Costs Draftsperson:

Proven experience in magistrates’ court legal aid billing, including standard fees, fee limits, and designated/undesignated areas.

Experience using a case management system such as P4W/TIKIT.

Knowledge of non-standard fee (CRM7) claims, including enhanced rates, preparing assessment bundles, drafting appeals against assessments, liaising with off-site costs draftspeople, and managing the allocation and tracking of claims.

Skilled in drafting and submitting CRM7 applications via the LAA portal (SILAS).

Familiarity with related areas such as extradition matters and breaches of ASBPCA (County Court and s.38 proceedings).
