Job - Childcare Paralegal

Location - Birchington, Kent

Hours - 9am to 5pm - Hybrid min 3 days in the office

Salary - £26K to £30K Dependent on experience

This is a great opportunity to join a great family advice and assistance law firm based in Kent.

You'll be joining a dynamic team, supporting a broad range of family law matters including Public and Private Family Law

As a Paralegal within the Family Law department, you will play a vital role in supporting fee earners and clients across a range of sensitive and complex legal matters. Working under the supervision of a Team Leader, you will ensure client needs are met with professionalism, efficiency, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities for the Childcare Paralegal role:

Manage and progress family law files competently within defined procedures and policies

Draft legal documentation including Statements, Notices, Applications, and Legal Forms

Handle client correspondence, telephone queries, and triage communications through electronic systems

Conduct client appointments and provide case advice (if needed and under supervision), and support financial eligibility assessments for legal aid or private terms

Support fee earners with case progression, including court attendances and professional liaison

Maintain accurate records using electronic case management systems

Prepare files for billing and closure, ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency, SRA and SQM requirements

Participate in general office and administrative duties, and training activities as needed

Skills & Abilities:

Strong analytical and logical thinking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Exceptional organisational and time management skills Knowledge

Solid understanding of Family Law and Legal Aid processes Experience

Essential: Previous experience working on family law and childcare proceedings
