Unfortunately, due to new work commitments, I am selling my 2002 Mini Cooper S (R53) in Chilli Red
Overall the car is in good condition for its age and has been clearly cared for over the years. It's recently had several key maintenance jobs completed (listed below), making it a strong and reliable example of the increasingly sought-after supercharged R53.
The car drives well, the supercharger pulls strongly and the handling is sharp. It feels solid on the roads and is genuinley enjoyable to drive.
✅ 12 Months MOT (until July 2026)
✅ Supercharger Serviced (June 2025)
✅ Alternator Replaced (June 2025)
✅ Auxiliary Belt Replaced (June 2025)
✅ Rocker Cover Gasket Replaced (June 2025)
✅ Full Service Completed (June 2025)
✅ Fuel Tank Strap Replaced (July 2025)
✅ OSF Balljoint Replaced (July 2025)
The car has a decent specification, as well as some nice added touches:
- Heated Leather Seats
- Xenon Headlights
- Upgraded Speakers
- Miltek Resonated Catback Exhaust
For complete transparency, there are a few 'downsides', these include:
- Remote Central Locking doesn't work from the key (it does via the door). I've been told a new key is needed (been quoted £150)
- Rear Boot Trim has slight lacquer peel (There is a replacement on eBay for £35, which I am tempted to order)
- Whilst the interior is generally tidy & clean, there is wear on the driver's seat & the roof lining is sagging slightly
- Part, not complete service history (I believe the previous owner serviced the car themself)
The minor issues listed don’t take away from the car’s overall condition — most of the major jobs have already been done, and it’s ready to be driven and enjoyed.
