This is an authentic G4 Challenge competition vehicle used during the 2006 Land Rover G4 Challenge in Bolivia. It comes with its original G4 certificate, extensive documentation, and even the original UK registration plates.

Built by Land Rover Special Vehicles, this is one of the 22 Discovery 3s prepared for the G4 Challenge. Unlike many G4 replicas or dealer editions, this is an original competition vehicle with documented provenance.

I am the second owner after Land Rover. The previous private owner kept the vehicle for 18 years, and the history file includes invoices, receipts and original documentation covering its life.

Powered by Jaguar's superb 4.4-litre V8 paired with a smooth automatic gearbox, the Discovery is equipped with air suspension, low range transfer box, Terrain Response and locking differential. The engine starts easily, runs smoothly and the gearbox performs exactly as it should. It remains a wonderfully comfortable and capable vehicle to drive.

Recent maintenance

Known faults

As with any genuine G4 vehicle of this age, there are a few items requiring attention:

* Electronic parking brake currently inoperative
* Alternator warning lamp illuminated since replacement, although the charging system operates correctly (approximately 13.8 V)
* Airbag warning lamp illuminated following battery replacement and may simply require resetting using the included Lynx diagnostic tool
* Rust in the usual Discovery 3 areas
* Sold without a current roadworthiness inspection due to lack of time, vehicle is drivable
