Description
Rare, Collectable, Antique George V Coronation Harp/Zither dating to the early 20th Century, commemorating the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary in 1912.
Although displaying no makers mark this instrument is possibly made by Oscar Schmidt International and has 45 strings and buttons to play chords.
This item is sold as seen and is in need of some restoration, in particular to the strings and back of the instrument which show signs of wear and tear (see photographs for more information), although this is not uncommon for an antique instrument which is more than 100 years old.
The soundboard has a decorative central rosette with other decorative features on the front including commemorative images for the Coronation including King George V and Queen Mary.
This Coronation Harp would be an attractive collectors piece or as a project for interested restorers of vintage stringed instruments.
Cash only. Collection from Invergowrie.
