VINTAGE FRENCH OIL PAINTING, OIL ON CANVAS STILL LIFE - COPPER PAN, WINE, CABBAGE, POTATOES, ONIONS - SIGNED - 50x39.5cm - REDUCED!

Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!

Part of our collection of vintage/antique paintings, we got this from a brocante in Chalons en Champagne and apparently it originally came from the clearance of a house in Dijon, Burgundy (we have several paintings from there listed or to be listed).
It’s a nicely painted still life, or nature morte in French, of a rustic French kitchen table setting with ingredients for a Pot au Feu stew - Copper Pan, Wine, Cabbage, Potatoes, Onions, Knife and Tablecloth.
The seller had no further information about it but it has a signature I read as M. ELICHER to the bottom left which I have been unable to identify.

Currently displayed in our kitchen, it is a large, bright, original piece of art which will fit into both the traditional and modern setting with ease…

In good vintage condition with some wear consistent with its age - please examine photographs carefully for condition.

The painting is a little worn but thick, textured, and still bright.
Little to no paint loss.
The canvas is old and but intact with no tears or repairs obvious when held up to the light and viewed from the rear - see photos.
The wooden stretcher is professionally constructed, a worn and stained but sound.
The canvas is a little loose but well secured in the stretcher by old nails.
There are a some of faint creases visible, where the canvas touches the rear struts of the stretcher - see photos.

Measures approximately:
50 cm long, 39,5 cm tall, 1.5 cm thick.
