Acquired in a private sale in the village of Essoyes in the Southern Champagne region.

It’s owner used to be a professor and he kept several charts when he retired.

This is a heavy duty, double sided, semi rigid cardboard chart or poster of the type used in French educational establishments in the 1950s.

Produced by Armand Colin as part of the TABLEAUX DE L'HISTOIRE DE LA CIVILISATION FRANÇAISE (PICTURES OF THE HISTORY OF FRENCH CIVILISATION) range, it’s subject is LE MOYEN AGE (MIDDLE AGES) and shows the different occupations, activities, and lives of two distinct groups - the Nobles and the Peasantry.

Brightly coloured and an imposing size, this makes a great piece of decorative wall art…

In very good vintage, used condition with a wear, scratches, creasing, and staining consistent with it’s age and use - please examine photographs carefully for condition.

Consists one large double sided chart.

The whole is in good, sound, condition but does show some staining, scratches, creasing, and wear - see photos.

The images are still bright and clear.

There are some creased areas but they do not penetrate through to the rear.

This had been stored in a barn and was very dusty on acquisition. It’s since had a light brush down and I’m sure would clean up further with a putty eraser if so required.

Double sided, therefore reversible, allowing for a change of display just by turning.

There are metal rings to the top edge for hanging.

The edges are fabric taped and generally sound.

Please note, this will be shipped rolled up as a large parcel and will no doubt require laying flat for a few days after receipt.
