Double oven Britannia stainless steel range cooker. A week ago with guests arriving imminently we panicked when we saw flames in the main oven. I thought it was toast. It turns out the fan element had failed spectacularly: not uncommon apparently. By the time I worked that out, I had fitted a new cooker! This has been our family cooker since 2001 when it cost £5,500: these are professional cookers that are built to be routinely repaired. This cooker needs two oven thermostats (@ £70?), a fan element (£34), and an igniter coil (£30) for one of the burners (we use a BBQ lighter), and a gas connector hose (£20). It also needs a good clean. If you can find a handyman to sort it out this could be a clever way to get a high end range cooker on the cheap. It's reassuringly heavy: so new owner collects. Sold as spares/repair: please make an offer, and we can take it from there.
