I offer a caring, commited and challenge centred approach with an unconditional positive regard at the core. I take child safety and health very seriously in all aspects of my teaching with a thoroughly personalised approach for all students of a wide age range from 5 years to the more mature into later life. My classroom music teaching across the 39 years has developed my musicality vastly across A level; GCE O level; GCSE music; Btec’s level 3 and level 2; culminating in the new Music Technology course in Btec.
I offer face to face from my studio or those further afield an online alternative.

Paul taught my son piano and he was a great teacher. My son really enjoyed the lessons and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

I have had an initial 'meet and greet' session with Paul and we discussed my ambitions for playing the piano. I played Paul a very short piece (grade one) I have been working on. Paul was encouraging and I felt I could work with him going forward. I am really looking forward to working with Paul as he teaches me the piano.

Really enjoying my piano lessons. Im a complete beginner and Paul is great, I feel more confident playing after just a few lessons. Pricing is really reasonable too and lesson slots are flexible. Highly recommend.

I’ve really enjoyed learning piano with Paul. The lessons are relaxed, varied and flexible, and Paul is a highly knowledgeable and experienced teacher. The Musico platform is also excellent for home learnin resources, and video lessons when needed

Paul is an absolutely brilliant piano teacher. He is patient, inventive and flexible in his teaching techniques so that he personalises the style of teaching to the aims of the pupil. Whether you want to study classically to pass grades, or prefer rock school, jazz or blues, he has a bottomless toolbox of techniques, tips and tricks to make your lessons tonnes of fun. I’m 49 and love studying classical piano, my son is 14 and prefers a much more modern approach. On top of all this, he caters for my son’s severe dyslexia and thanks to Paul, my son has now experienced the thrill of achieving distinction awards in piano exam grades. For a dyslexic learner, where learning is so often difficult and anything but fun, this is a really big deal. Paul is a fantastic teacher and a really nice person. I cannot recommend highly enough.
