No matter your style or space, Stenstorp could be the answer to a more enjoyable, flowing kitchen life.
Alternatively your kitchen may work perfectly already but you might not yet have cracked your work from home space, or your hobby/workshop area...
I've held onto this wonderful island determined to fit it in somewhere in our new home, however, time to get real & practical and clear the decks!
This is one of those rare life changing pieces whose cost in no way reflects the difference they make to your daily life (the other home purchase I'd personally pop in this category is a wood burning stove!).
This quickly became a cult piece globally when it came out and there have been many copycats!
Once you start using you understand why: fabulous prep space, a gathering place, a desk, a dining table for two (appealing for kids & adults alike) and a spacious storage area - this island really does tick a lot of boxes.
It also features a solid oak butcher block top and the entire rest of the frame is made from solid wood (oak & birch) with stainless steel topped shelves.
Eminently practical and pleasing to look at!
The current Ikea equivalent is Vadholma. In its functionality similar, in its makeup (particleboard & an oak veneered top!) worlds apart: this much lower quality, yet top of their range, island currently retails for £499 & UK delivery is £40. And then there's the assembly...
This island is in good condition but please be aware it has been used (with great delight) so shows expected wear & tear. However, given it's made of real, quality wood it could effortlessly last for decades to come.
The top can easily be sanded & reoiled and the frame could be painted if wished.
