Description
These were one of the sought after boutique pickups in the 90’s and early 00’s hand wound by Van Zandt in Texas who repaired and wound custom pickups for a host of Texas guitar players from the 70’s and onwards including allegedly both Vaughan brothers. The Blues models are hotter than typical vintage Strat pickups but not quite as hot as Texas Specials but they have a more dynamic, responsive and lively feel, comparable to Fralins, Bare Knuckle and Lollars in quality. From memory, I think the resistance readings were around 6.5-6.8k
I’ve cherished these since 1999 but I’m moving on in life and have decided to let them go. They are quite well used as reflected in the price.
