Review of Penelope Evans Catering I asked for a list of caterers for my 90th birthday party and Penelope was quick to reply and extremely helpful. I wanted an informal party of about 35 people in my flat on the Saturday in November nearest to my birthday from 12 -6. Penelope came to view my flat and agreed it was possible to hold the party there as most people would not be there the whole time. I wanted a cold buffet and she produced delicious sandwiches, sausage rolls and scones and a good assortment of small cakes. My brother and sister-in-law gave me the birthday cake which Penelope arranged to have made as an iced fruit cake. Penelope provided all the necessary serving dishes and small plates, glasses, etc. I provided red and white wine and Penelope provided tea and coffee. She promised they would all be removed unwashed. We agreed a price, which was rather less than I expected. On the day, Penelope arrived with everything in the morning and with a helper, Jada, who was very pleasant and efficient. Penelope had to go to another function but Jada coped with no fuss and very courteously. All my guests praised her. They were very enthusiastic about the food. There was more than enough. Penelope said she would come the next day and collect all the dishes, etc, which Jada had put in boxes under the table. She said she would come at 10 and she did. Everything was removed by 10.30. I cannot recommend Penelope and her catering service highly enough and would use her again without any worry. Mary Shakeshaft
