Description
A Sharon Candlestick by Dartington. Rare to find still boxed with original candle.
24% Lead Crystal Glass. Bears original label. No chips or cracks. Measures 20 x 8 cm, 41cm tall including original, still-wrapped candle.
Designed by the under-rated and revolutionary Frank Thrower MBE. He was chief designer of Dartington Glass until his death in 1987, aged 55. He received the Observer Award for Design in 1969, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Design Prize in 1972 and in 1985 his ‘Sharon’ champagne flute was included in a V & A exhibition called ‘100 Best Ever Products’.
