Free-standing Display / Ornament / Shelving unit. Hand made from solid timber

Description

This piece looks stunning as a display unit. The Black Bison wax finish has a lot of subtle colour notes in it. The shelves can look more red, black, yellow, and brown, depending on the colour of the light used in the room as well as the colour of the surrounding walls. Aside from ornaments, trophies, pictures, collectables, the dimensions of the shelves allow neat storage of CD’s and DVD’s (in the higher and lower sections respectively), if you happen to have a collection of this older media needing a home.

I hand built this myself a while back from solid timber, using only hand tools, a couple of power tools, and a lot of precise measurements. It’s entirely jointed (27 of them in total), with some supporting adhesive. No screws, although some nails were used to hold in the backboard.

It has been used briefly once or twice over the years, although I have given it a once over with the black bison wax to give it a good-as-new finish again. Please bare in mind the various streaks, light marks and variations in wax build up in places, are all to add to the antique style of finish, and are entirely intentional.
