Few cars embody postwar British motoring as perfectly as the charming Morris Minor, designed by Sir Alec Issigonis (who would later go on to create the Mini), and by the early 1950s it had become a staple of British roads.
Morris Minors weren’t glamorous or fast, but they captured the spirit of its time perfectly, dependable, practical and full of charm; all these years later they remain one of Britain’s most iconic cars and an important part of our motoring history with enthusiasts, clubs and specialists keeping parts and knowledge readily available … and cars on the road.
We know there are plenty of Moggie’s available but we don’t think you’ll find another one with just one owner from new until June 2025 and garaged for the last 43 years - this is a very rare example indeed.
Starts on the button and drives well; the vendor reports that the brakes will require attention, the tyres will need to be replaced and the exhaust is blowing; so we are calling this a ‘light project’.
It is sold with a large collection of parts and spares (vendor valued at over £1,000) and the sale includes the transferable number plate ‘221 KWD’ valued at circa £2,000.
It has recently be viewed/inspected by Ady Watts; Morris Minor Owners Club Member and highly regarded restorer who declared it as a solid car, with new wings fitted all round a few years ago.
We think this is a special find, with a wonderful single ownership history for over 60 years!
Few cars get as many smiles, waves, and conversations at petrol stations as a Morris Minor, wonderful cars to own and drive, easy to maintain and always welcomed at classic car meets and shows - a true practical classic.
