Raleigh Special Products touring bike in Reynolds 708 tubing (excl saddle and pedals)

Please note as saddles are very personal bike is for sale excluding saddle and also pedals.
Built with Reynolds 708 tubing, this was hand built in Raleigh’s Special Products division, closed in the 1990s. The ride is beautifully smooth as the tubing soaks up almost all road vibration. But not ultra light weight as it is built to sustain load carrying without flex in the rear seat stays/ chain stays.
Top tube 55cm c-to-c, seat tube 51cm from top of bottom bracket to centre of top tube.
Gears are 3 x 7 giving wide range for touring.
Mix of Shimano gear. Rear derailleur is 105, front derailleur is Nexave. Gear shifters are Kelly take-offs using click shift for the rear and friction shift for the front.
Brakes are superb Crane Creek cantilevers. Front brake boosted by unique light booster that allows convenient light fitting and strengthens the front brake action.
Rims are Mavic 319 excellent quality touring rims. Currently 28mm tyres fitted.
Hubs are Goldtech (British made). Rear hub works on oil lubrication using refill point on left side. Kit for refilling provided. Depending on use refill every 2-6 months. 5 minute job.
Bike is sold with Carradice front bar bag in excellent condition.
Also with fitted bottle Dynamo and front /rear lights. Front light is halogen and I have spare bulb to provide with the bike.Rear is LED.
No pedals.
Front rack also to be sold with the bike (not shown).
