Description
This is a superb Victorian antique bedroom or occasional chair but it can be used anywhere. We have just completely and professionally renovated this chair which is over 160 years old. We also totally upholstered it using traditional upholstery materials and methods including new webbing, new springs, new horse hair and wool and cotton flocking and then covered in 100% cotton calico before being covered with a very high quality fabric from a famous English fabric weaver in wool/cotton. The seat and back are covered in this superb sky blue fabric with contrasting diamond weave. The rear of the seat back is covered just as it would have been in 1860 by using cotton satin plain blue matching fabric. The whole is then covered at the edges with fine silk and velvet braid. The whole chair has received over 45 hours of professional artisan labour. The fine brazilian mahogany has been French polished using shellac and waxed.
Very sadly the owner passed away and we are now selling the chair which cost over £400 to renovate and reupholstered to help the owner. An antique dealer would sell this chair for around £700 or more. Our price is therefore a massive bargain and does not even cover the cost of the chair before it was renovated let alone the £400 of our cost! Please don't offend us with a really silly offer, we would never to that to you.
NB This is a Victorian chair and is not as high to the top of the seat as a dining chair. The seat height is 15 inches to the top of the seat and a dining chair is about 3 inches higher.
This chair can be picked up in person or we may be able to deliver but the price will need to be worked out depending where you are. We will ensure it is extremely well packed using a lot of packaging. You'll still get a bargain.
