Description
Approx. 2 inches or 5 cm in height and approx. 1 1/4 inches or 3.5 cm in width and weighing 177 grams, a solid brass, pleasingly pear-shaped and tactile object, smooth and beautifully evenly turned, with a hole at the top for hanging, pendulum-style, rather like a plum bob.
It's actually a small brass weight or counterweight as found in Dutch-style wall clocks (most commonly Zaandam Zaanse clocks). When sold (see online), these brass artefacts normally
command prices much higher than this - but, then again, they are a bit niche!
Could make, for instance, a heavy-duty handle on the end of a pull-cord of some description (provided it can't swing and damage anything such as the wall surface).
