2002 MG TF 135

2002 MG TF 135 1.8 finished in LeMans Green with smokestone interior.
Owned for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it and looked after as much as we can. 110,000miles with part service history. MOT July 2026. Standard equipment: Electric windows. Electric mirrors, optional front fog lights and glass rear window with rear defrost, 16” 11 spoke alloys. Manual retracting soft top, parking sensors.

During our ownership we’ve had new, replaced and updated -
- [ ] Both rear brakes and callipers.
- [ ] Clutch.
- [ ] Head gasket (done by MG Specialist)
- [ ] Full service, fluids, filters, plugs and coils, wiper blades.
- [ ] 4 new tyres.
- [ ] Drivers side shocks and springs.
- [ ] Cooling system overhauled, new pipes from front to back + recent thermostat repair, coolant system fully bled and flushed (more on this later)
- [ ] Brake and clutch fluid refreshed.
- [ ] Replaced exhaust. Flexi downpipe, cat converter and backbox and x2 lambda sensors.
- [ ] Late August New Battery purchased.
- [ ] Underneath and wheel arches have been scrubbed clean and treated, No major Rust concerns, only scabby surface spots.
- [ ] Upgraded side, headlights, reverse bulbs, same with the interior footwell lights.
- [ ] New MG badges.
- [ ] Upgraded audio system. Rear speakers with retractable touchscreen head unit with Radio, AUX, AV1, 2 USB, Bluetooth.
- [ ] Regularly washed and cleaned inside and out on a weekly basis.

The problematic bits from the last owner’s and our ownership recently are:

- [ ] Sadly Body work is not in immaculate condition, there are dings and dent on the drivers door.
- [ ] lacquer peel on the front and rear boot, and under the rear lights.
- [ ] Rear bumper scuffed round the passenger side.
- [ ] Front bumper scuffed.
- [ ] All 4 alloys could do with a refurbishment.
- [ ] SRS light intermittent, due to front seat.
- [ ] Passenger side intake vent has had a battering, not a pretty repair.
- [ ] Scratches on the passenger side front wind and door.
- [ ] Since the cooling system repair it has got an overheating issue, the temp will sit under halfway and creep up to just under the red when stationary and also whilst driving, you can hear the coolant bubbling in the bottle, it doesn’t leak or loses any coolant.
- [ ] A recent tapping noise on startup has developed and dose go away after a short while, Could be spark or ignition, would need inspecting.
- [ ] Interior carpet is torn round where the pedals are.
- [ ] Drivers seat has a tear and bogus repair on the bolster and the seat has a tear and detached Alcantara material.
- [ ] Soft top has unstitched bits next to the rear window however it is sealed, you can’t put your hand through it and no water intrusion.
It’s a 23 year old car that’s had 6+ owners and over 100,000 miles, it’s not perfect and needs TLC, it starts, drives and will put a smile on your face
