Description

MG BGT 1972 1800cc – 27300 miles
Sadly, MG BGT needs to go, as we no longer have a garage (the car is currently being stored in a family member’s garage).
The car is very original and is in reasonably good condition for a '72 car. The mileage is genuine! It was completed overhauled and restored in 2011 by its previous owner, this included a complete strip down and total respray. The colour is original. The car has a folder of service, replacements, and restoration history, and this includes photographs of the restoration in 2011. The car’s overdrive is in full working order.

Mechanical
The car has had the following in the last two months:
4 brand new tyres
Oil Change
Oil filter change
Air filter change
New set of spark plugs
New damper oil
New bonnet cable
Most importantly the car has been into JSWL (Jim Strokes Workshop Ltd - a hugely respected and well know classic car specialist in Hampshire) I picked it up from there last week. It has had a complete carb rebuild! Carburettors were completely striped down and a SU Carb rebuild kit applied to both carbs.
JSWL have then adjusted the timing and tuned and balanced the carbs, leaving the car running beautifully.
JSWL have also flushed and overhauled the coolant system.
All invoices / records for this work can be made available.
The car has been checked over (MOT style) by my regular garage within the last two months and came back with a clean bill of health.

Body work and Interior
The exterior of the car is all original, and in reasonable condition, there are some areas areas that will need some care in the future to ensure the car continues to turn heads.
The bodywork is pretty good condition, there are spots where the car could do with some attention, BUT there is no significant or penetrative rust. The Chrome around the car is very representative of its age, and up close there are blemishes and very small rust spots.
All lights, windows, wipers etc are original and functioning.
Please see photos for the best insight into her condition. All photos are from within the last two months maximum (so all very current).
The interior is again very original and could do with some tidying up but is all functional and comfortable.

Known problems
Currently the driver’s door lock is not engaging, these are easily replaced and available online for as little as £38 each.
The internal heater selection knob does not always function correctly.
The speedo dash illumination light does not work.

Additional Extras
Brand new spare parts I have which are included in the sale:
Fuel filter.
Points set
Fan belt.
The car comes with:
Heavy duty fleece back car cover – The top spec product supplied at Halfords (with carry bag).
The Complete Official MGB 1962-74 – Robert Bentley. Commonly thought of as the best maintenance manual for many cars and often used by the garages servicing these cars today. I bought this copy when I bought the car and it alone cost me £60.00.

The car is a pleasure to drive and make me smile every time I get to take her out.
Please see the pictures for further information.
Viewing and a ride in the car are welcome.
Thanks, and regards.
