1981 MGB GT LE 2.0L IVOR SEARLE FUEL INJECTED

We are really pleased to offer this fabulous example of the highly coveted Limited Edition MBG GTTo celebrate the end of its 18 year production, 1000 Limited Edition MGB's were built for the home market and consisted of 420 roadsters and 580 GTs. Mechanically the same as the standard production cars, the GTs were all painted Pewter metallic, whereas the Roadsters were finished in Bronze metallic.Total overall production for all GTs and Roadsters was 512,243 unit, so these LE's represent a small fraction of the total and and thus are highly collectable today, especially when they are in such fabulous restored condition, as with this car.Our car has had 4 previous keepers but this is no ordinary MGBGT … in 2007 it received significant expenditure and was upgraded with a Stage II balanced Ivor Searle engine( complete with HS6 1.75"" carburettors (now just for show...read on) along with other significant expenditure such as, parabolic springs, upgraded  dampers to front and rear, electronic ignition, full stainless steel sports exhaust, and fitted with quality Avon tyres all round.Fast forward to April 2025 and around 500 miles later with the view of creating the best driving LE available and ready for touring it was upgraded with a 'Classic fuel injection kit' at the cost of £4200 including other items such as headgasket etc for its current keeper but unfortunately due to health reasons the car now has to be moved on. (all original components accompany the car)The result is a great driving car with bags of power and really good handling. The bodywork is in good condition as is the paintwork, with well-fitting panels and good structure. According to the large file of paperwork, the car was extensively restored between 2006 and 2009, and at some stage, has obviously had a full, professional re-spray in its original Pewter Grey.The interior, which now has leather sports seats, is in fine condition, including carpets, headlining, door cards and dashboard.As you can see, it is fitted with a Moto-Lita style steering wheel and the original LE-type road wheels have been retained.Speakers fitted, no radio but wiring behind cover plate.Accompanied by a BMIHT certificate to confirm its originally an 'LE' spec [Website URL removed] with fresh MOT prior to arriving with ourselves.Full dealer facilities available.
