1974 MGB GT V8 Manual With O/D. Original factory RHD home market V8 built March 1974. The beneficiary of a full restoration completed in 2022 at a cost of £54,000. Finished in Tungsten Grey Metallic with Mulberry leather piped in grey with matching door cards and interior with Antique red carpets. Weathershield folding sunroof, refurbished original 14in Dunlop alloy wheels and upgraded EZ electric power steering.

The works have included the Enviro Strip acid-dipping of the bare shell to remove any traces of rust after which It was then carefully and meticulously rust-proofed and painted in a BMW approved body shop before being reassembled. The bumpers were re-chromed rather than replaced to keep as much of the car’s originality as possible. All new rubber seals were fitted and Dynamat soundproofing installed to the floorpan, wheelarches and headlining.

The Rover V8 engine parts were supplied by RPI Engineering while the engine block and cylinder heads machining were carried out by Gee’s Automotive Engines and the gearbox experts Klassic Transmissions rebuilt the gearbox. A Wosp Performance high-torq starter motor and Radtec cooling system and alloy radiator was added to aid modern driving conditions. A stainless-steel exhaust system was fitted, the pattern of which is now being used by the MG Owners Club and the original Radiomobile radio has been converted to Bluetooth making it smart-phone compatible.

The exhaustive restoration works undertaken and the attention to detail are clear to see and have resulted in a simply beautiful example of a home market factory V8 that presents in superb just restored order throughout. Ready to be used and enjoyed and set for any adventures you wish to undertake.

Comes complete with a detailed three volume History and Restoration file, BMI Heritage Trust Factory Record, its original factory V8 handbook, Dunlop V8 spare wheel, this example also benefits from a professional detail and ceramic coating.

Our showroom in Swainby North Yorkshire, DL6 3EL is nestled against the Cleveland Hills and located within the beautiful North York Moors National Park, a perfect place to drive to and collect your car. We are easy to find and just 5 minutes drive from the A19 and 25 minutes from the A1M. The Kings Cross/Edinburgh main-line runs through Northallerton just 15 miles away. We also offer a in-house transported delivery service to have your car brought direct to your door.
