Welcome to the listing of my 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI Avantgarde presented in Brilliant Silver Metallic. I purchased it at the beginning of this year, but is now surplus to requirements as I am going back down to one car.


This example boasts an incredible specification and includes the following optional extras:

- Front & Rear Parking Sensors (Intermittent when wet)


The car also boasts the usual W211 Avantgarde refinements such as full black leather, cruise control, electrically adjustable steering column, electric folding mirrors, wood interior trim, xenon headlights, lumbar support, auto lights, auto wipers, and much more.


I’ve known the car for a few years, a friend of mine purchased it from a gentleman in Scunthorpe in around November 2022, and he owned it up until January 2025 when I purchased it from him. It has been very reliable with only a couple of minor issues during that time, which have since been rectified. I’ve had three of these W211 3.2 Diesel E-Classes, and this particular one has been my favourite.


In May, I took the car to North Wales and back and spent a week there, and managed 45 MPG across the entire trip, and 51 MPG on the way up there, the car is fantastic on fuel and extremely comfortable for long trips.


The car benefits from a full 12 Month MOT and the fantastic 3.2 litre OM648 engine which is bulletproof, and is incredibly smooth. The 5 speed transmission is in great working order and gear changes are slick. The car is completely standard and has had 4 previous owners (5 previous owners including myself). There is service history up until around 152K, it has been serviced twice since then, but these haven’t been documented in the service history booklet. The car comes with the two original keys and the V5 which is in my name. All tyres have decent tread, budgets on the front and Kuhmos on the rear. It has recently had the two front springs replaced. Original accessories such as genuine floor mats and first aid kit are present.


As it is a 21-year old car, there are a couple of minor issues, but these have never bothered me:


- Parking Sensors intermittent when wet - I believe this is due to one of the sensors having water ingress, and when one sensor is faulty, it wipes out the entire system. During the summer, the parking sensors mostly work fine.

- Air Conditioning does not function - Probably needs a regas, but I never bothered as I prefer having the sunroof open.

- Satellite Navigation system doesn’t detect current location - I just use Google Maps on my phone, as these Sat Nav’s are fairly useless now anyway. The rest of the infotainment system works perfectly.

- Small chip on windscreen (passenger side, doesn’t affect MOT)


Everything else, other than the points mentioned above, work great such as the sound system, heated seats, electric adjustments for the seats, auto lights etc. The SBC pump works perfectly and have never had an issue with it.


For the age of the car, the bodywork is in above-average condition, but far from perfect as you’d expect for the age and miles. The wheels would benefit from a refurb, and there are some minor dents and stone chips here and there. One or two wheel arches have slight rust bubbling but it’s very minor, this can be seen in photos.
