Senior Communications Officer Cheshire / Hybrid

26.86 per hour Umbrella

A Local Authority in Cheshire is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join their communications team on an interim basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with strong campaign, PR and stakeholder management experience to help deliver high-profile communications activity across a range of key council services and initiatives.

The Role You will be responsible for planning, delivering and advising on complex and high-profile communications campaigns, ensuring effective engagement with residents, stakeholders and partners.

Key duties will include:

Planning and delivering strategic communications and PR campaignsManaging multiple concurrent campaigns to agreed deadlines and budgetsWorking with a wide range of internal clients and stakeholders to set measurable objectivesEvaluating campaign effectiveness and reporting on outcomesCommissioning creative communications materials, publications and digital contentManaging reputational risks and responding to sensitive issuesProviding strategic communications advice to senior stakeholdersSupporting the development and execution of communications strategies About You The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience delivering communications and PR campaigns within a complex organisationStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skillsExperience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to identify and manage reputational threats effectivelyExperience commissioning creative communications products and publicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong understanding of strategic communications and how strategy translates into operational delivery Local government or public sector experience would be highly advantageous.
