Description
Like most operators, the North Western Road Car Company, needed to replace much of their fleets worn out due to the rigours of Second World War service.
Fleet No 179 (Reg CDB 179) from a batch of sixty seven Bristol vehicles, each powered by a 5 litre Gardner engine and with 35 seater Eastern Coachworks bodywork, proved eminently suited to the long and arduous route 27 from Manchester to Buxton, in Derbyshire, via Stockport, New Mills and Chapel-en-le-Frith which was deemed unsuitable for double deckers.
Eventually, they were phased out in the mid to late 1950s and replaced by Leyland and AEC vehicles with greater seating capacity.
This model perfectly replicates the design and livery of the actual vehicle and carries adverts of the day for a brand of fish cakes and a refrigeration company. It is still in its display case inside an unopened box , with a narrative on its side and comes with a LIMITED EDITION CERTIFICATE.
