Description

My name is Rob Silk and I am a qualified primary teacher with a BSc in Mathematics offering friendly, supportive tutoring sessions. I am passionate about building confidence in children and adults, especially around maths, aiming to make it understandable rather than just a process of memorisation.

I tutor from my house in Ryde but I can travel if this suits you better. I also offer an online option for older children and adults.

I offer a range of tutoring services for both children and adults:
- Primary support
Tailored support for your child’s needs in key areas of the primary curriculum including reading, writing, spelling and maths. I work to improve understanding and build confidence that your child can take into their school setting.

- Secondary maths support
Maths is a subject that builds on previous knowledge year on year, starting way back in Early Years. If certain blocks haven’t been properly understood, then secondary maths can become puzzling at best and scary at worst. I aim to find the gaps and create a firm foundation for tackling the secondary maths curriculum. This changes maths from being a rather scary prospect of how much you can hold in your head to a process of understandable steps to get to a solution.
