Are you a creative thinker with a passion for storytelling, and making a real impact?

Join Scottish Autism as a Communications Officer and play a vital role in promoting the voices, values and work of Scotland’s leading autism organisation.

About us:

Scottish Autism is dedicated to enabling autistic people to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. We believe in the power of relationships to transform the lives of the people we support. We help build a more caring, compassionate, and inclusive Scotland, relationship by relationship. Our people work in teams, supporting each other through the challenges and triumphs that happen every day. Our organisation is our people, and the qualities they bring to their roles.

About the role:

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll work closely with a collaborative and enthusiastic team to deliver compelling content and meaningful campaigns. You’ll help shape how we connect with our communities, raise awareness of our work, and support the wider organisation to share their stories.

What You’ll Do

- Develop a process for ensuring the great work done in our services can be promoted throughout our internal and external communications channels

- Maintain and develop our new website, ensuring it’s kept up to date and that we consistently put out new content for our audiences

- Lead on the delivery of key internal communications channels, helping to foster and develop a great culture

- Support the Media and Policy Officer in increasing the impact of our media work and creating content and materials to support our policy campaigns.

We’re Looking For

Someone who’s organised, enthusiastic and a strong communicator - someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited by the idea of supporting a mission-driven team. You’ll be confident with digital and traditional media platforms.

You’ll bring:

- Excellent communication and organisational skills

- Experience of managing a project from beginning to end, and driving it forward

- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude

- Experience in a similar marketing and/or communications role

- Understanding of how marketing and communications can drive awareness and engagement

- Familiarity with websites, social media, and digital content (experience in design or video is desirable)

- A love for creativity, storytelling, and social impact

A full UK Driving License is desirable due to occasional travel for events or collaboration with support services.

See the full job description on our website.

- Non-contributory life assurance scheme

- Workplace Pension – up to 9% employer matched contribution
