Transport Planner

Description

My client, a Transport company based in Worcester is looking to recruit a Transport Planner on a Permanent basis. You will support the Transport Manager in the day–to–day functions of running the Transport Operation, stepping into the Managers role when he is off–site. The main responsibilities of the role include – Plan and schedule multi–drop deliveries across the UK – Work closely with warehouse team to meet delivery deadlines – Monitor vehicle movements using tracking system – Manage driver route–plans – Work closely with in–house customer service team to manage deliveries – Ensure legal compliance on all drive/transport legislation – Manage issues as they arise – Implement any cost savings where possible As a suitable candidates you will offer the following – previous experience in a similar role with multi–drop deliveries – Good geographical knowledge of the UK – A strong personality who is able to manage different personalities across the transport team – Methodical and diligent with your paperwork – Good IT skills including Traffic Management System(TMS) and EXCEL – Excellent knowledge of Driver Compliance and Transport Legislation – An ability to prioritize workload This role is Mon–Fri from (Apply online only) but some flexibility may be required during holiday and sickness The salary on offer is up to 37,500 Keywords Transport Planner, TMS, Descartes, Drive legislation, Compliance, vehicle tracking
