A leading UK–based chemical distribution company is seeking a Sustainability Officer to join their Technical Department at their Manchester site. Known for excellence in the industry, the company partners with leading chemical manufacturers and provides products across a wide array of sectors.

The Sustainability Officer will evaluate and manage the organisation's environmental footprint, working to embed principles throughout the company's processes and culture. Acting as a vital liaison internally and externally, you will help advance environmental objectives by driving initiatives, monitoring progress, and fostering awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments to measure environmental impacts and propose strategies to reduce the company's ecological footprint.Champion the integration of principles into daily operations and company values, supporting long–term environmental stewardship.Track, analyse, and report on environmental metrics such as energy usage, water consumption, waste production, and carbon footprint.Design and lead projects to minimise waste, enhance recycling efforts, and improve resource efficiency.Educate and collaborate with staff to encourage behaviours and practices throughout the organisation.Develop and oversee the delivery of plans, ensuring continuous monitoring and compliance.Communicate progress and goals effectively to stakeholders both inside and outside the company.Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated experience or strong knowledge of concepts in a comparable setting.Degree in a relevant science discipline (preferred).Ability to organise workload, juggle priorities, and manage time efficiently.Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Excel.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone manner.How to Apply:
