Production Manager 2–10 Shift

We are partnering with a well–established bakery manufacturer in Hertfordshire to recruit a talented Production Manager to lead their back–shift operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong bakery experience to step into a pivotal leadership role within a growing, high–quality food production business.

The Role:

As the Production Manager for the back shift, you will be responsible for delivering operational excellence, ensuring products meet exacting quality standards, and driving efficiencies across the shift. You will lead a dedicated team of supervisors and operatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with all food safety and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all back–shift production activities in a busy bakery environment.

Motivate and coach staff to deliver high levels of performance and quality.

Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRC, and other food safety standards.

Monitor production KPIs and implement improvements where needed.

Work closely with planning, technical, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.

About You:

Proven experience as a Production Manager (or equivalent) within the bakery or wider food manufacturing sector.

Strong knowledge of bakery processes and production techniques.

Effective leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams.

A proactive, solutions–focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
