Vickerstock are currently assisting a leading UK & Irish food manufacturing client based in the Greater Glasgow area in the appointment of a Planner. The company have a reputation for excellence with a focus on employee engagement and development.

Planner Job Overview:

The Planner will be responsible for producing timely, effective and efficient manufacturing plans for production lines, ensuring the optimisation of manufacturing resources, inventory and customer service levels to ensure that the short, medium and long term production plans are achieved.

Planner Job Duties

The Planner will be responsible for the following duties within the role:

* Produce short and mid-term manufacturing plans for the onsite food production lines which maximise line efficiency and customer service levels.

* Maintain mid to long term capacity plans to allow sites to complete a longer term scenario analysis of materials, equipment, facilities & manpower planning factoring in inter-site capabilities.

* Ensure the MRP planning run is executed on a weekly basis with the correct production lines.

* Regular liaising with the purchasing department to ensure all raw materials and packaging are in the correct location so the manufacturing plan can be executed, stocks are optimised and shelf life times are in location with requirements.

* Liaise with Manufacturing to ensure production plans are efficient and maximize line & labour utilisation

* Communicate potential supply issues that may affect customer service levels.

* Develop and maintain KPI’s for your area.

* Work closely with Suppliers, Purchasing, Distribution & Sales to ensure that outsourced finished products and key short lead time ingredients are managed efficiently though the Supply Chain and out to customers in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.

* Create timely demand forecasts.

* Be interchangeable to plan and forecast for any production line or bought in product as required by the business.

Planner Criteria/Essential Experience

The Planner must be able to demonstrate the following:

* Relevant planning / forecasting or scheduling experience within a supply chain function in a manufacturing environment.

* Working knowledge of an ERP / MRP system.
