Description

Location: Gloucester, England

World–leading landing gear – made by you.

As part of our production team, the Pipe Fabricator will play a key role in producing landing gear pipes. You'll be operating conventional and CNC equipment for bending, hydraulic fitting swaging and pressure testing, while ensuring quality, cost, deadlines and safety requirements are met. You will also provide occasional support to the landing gear assembly line and contribute to improvements that enhance product quality and reduce production time.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing local team, with investment being made on site and plenty of scope for learning and progression.

What we offer:

Work–life balance: A four–and–a–half–day working week, with Friday afternoons off (where applicable).

Generous leave: 25 days' holiday plus UK bank holidays, with options to buy or sell days.

Rewards: Annual bonus and share scheme options.

Future security: A pension scheme with up to 8% matched contributions, plus life assurance at 4x your salary.

Everyday support: Free onsite parking (including EV charging), subsidised restaurant, bicycle storage and shower facilities.

Flexibility: A wide range of benefits tailored to your needs.

What will I be doing?

Preparing and installing tools, measuring and test equipment, and control stations.

Loading computer programs and inputting equipment settings in line with production procedures.

Running machine programmes to carry out operations and performing intermediate checks.

Inspecting finished products and identifying defects.

What do I need to succeed?

A Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).

Understanding of the principles of pipe manufacture.

Knowledge of assembly processes and associated production acceptance testing.

General knowledge of fabrication and use of relevant machinery.

Ability to follow and understand technical drawings, specifications, procedures and test instructions.

Awareness of risks related to Foreign Object Damage (FOD).

Familiarity with quality tools such as 5S and Lean/Six Sigma.

Ability to self–inspect and carry out dimensional measurements.

CNC programming knowledge would be an advantage.
