Mine Electrician

Description

Here at British Gypsum, working out of our underground mine in Fauld, we are looking for a Mine Electrician.

In short, you will safely carry out and deliver both preventative & professional electrical maintenance to maximise mine efficiency by actively utilising continuous improvement techniques and delivering the highest standards.

Working on a rotating shift pattern (inclusive of mornings, afternoons and nights), you'll be part of a small shift team playing a key part in how our biggest and oldest mine successfully operates.

What we're looking for:

18th edition qualification as a minimumLevel 3 apprenticeship or equivalentUnderground mining experience would be highly advantageous, however other heavy industries would suitHands on HV and LV experience is desirableA strong sense of H&S for both yourself and your colleaguesExperience maintaining mobile plant or similar equipment What you will be doing:

You will be accountable for your own and your colleagues' health and safety, whilst ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest possible standard. You will be expected to have an analytical mind and be able to apply those skills to problem solving and decision making and be able to clearly communicate with others.

Demonstrating a positive and proactive approach, with a continuous improvement mindset, as well as both reactive and planned electrical maintenance work across diesel vehicles, conveyors, crushers, the work will include both installation and testing of electrical equipment, both LV and HV, as well as industrial electrical work.

The tasks in which you'll apply the continuous improvement tools will involve all aspects of the mine equipment operation, to professional maintenance.
