Description
Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a lead mechanical design engineer to work for a low volume high value manufacturing business. As the successful mechanical design engineer you will have experience of industrial / product design and have a flair for the aesthetic.
On offer is the opportunity to join an industry leading business that design and manufacture their product on site.
Our client has a full order book for the foreseeable future and is going through a period of continued growth.
Responsibilities
Carry out mechanical fit and compatibility checksAssist production with design of relevant jigs & fixtures, and manage their manufactureEnsure all products are designed for ease of manufacture & assemblyEvaluate components from datasheet information and then approve through appropriate testingBuild and test initial samples and qualify the design with correct documentationProvide technical support to Production for day–to–day design, performance and quality issues which arise
Skills and qualifications:
Familiar with 2D & 3D modelling and design packages. Solidworks preferred but not essentialKnowledge of metal (castings, sheet metal, extrusions, castings, etc)Experience in high volume manufacturing environment with design for manufacture and test Does this sound like your next role?
