Factory operative/fork lift driver

Description

We are seeking a skilled Factory worker/ Forklift Operator to join dynamic team in a fast–paced warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to load and unload materials, ensuring efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.

Shift pattern – 7:30–4:30pm Mon–thur and 7:00–4pm Fri

Pay rate depending on experience

Temp–perm position

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas. Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage techniques are followed. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using the warehouse management system. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying that all incoming and outgoing shipments are correct. Perform routine equipment checks and minor repairs to ensure optimal forklift performance. Collaborate with team members to maintain an organised and efficient warehouse environment. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials. Skills

Proficient in operating forklifts with a valid forklift licence. Strong understanding of materials handling principles and warehouse operations. Experience with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory movements. Basic mechanical knowledge for performing minor equipment repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury. Basic mathematical skills for inventory counting and record keeping. Previous warehouse experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
