Description

Talent-UK are recruiting on behalf of their client based in Elland for an experienced Estimator on a full time permanent basis, Proven experience as an Estimator in a manufacturing, construction supply, or related industry. The role comes with a competitive salary of £30k-£40k dependant on experience

Job Overview:

The Estimator will be responsible for take offs and project quoting of large and bespoke tenders, ensuring quantities and sizes are accurate and material specifications are clear. This role will work closely with the sales, design and production teams to ensure quotations are commercially viable, meet customer requirements, and align with company profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand scope and requirements.

Prepare accurate take offs for relevant materials.

Prepare formal quotations and submit within required timeframes.

Collaboration & Communication

Work with the sales team to support bids and tenders, providing technical and pricing input.

Liaise with design and production teams to confirm feasibility and optimise product solutions.

Support negotiations with customers on pricing, specification changes, and value engineering options.

Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, and supplier quotations.

Update and manage estimating software, price lists, and standard product costing models

Provide regular reports on quotation win rates, average margins, and market pricing trends

Introduce processes to help support the sales function and improve efficiencies of the estimating function. Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as an Estimator in a manufacturing, construction supply, or related industry.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Good understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes.

Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and estimating software. Desirable

Experience in the acoustic products, fit-out, or interiors sector.

Knowledge of construction contracts and tendering procedures.

Understanding of CAD drawings and ability to read manufacturing/shop drawings. Key Attributes

Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Solutions-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Team player who can collaborate across departments.
