Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (Contract)
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 6 Months
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Rate: £40 - £45 per hour
About the Role
We are working with a leading food packaging company in Liverpool who are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support their engineering team on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role offering a mix of onsite and remote working, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed electrical design drawings and schematics for food packaging machinery and associated systems.
Work with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design software to deliver accurate and compliant designs.
Develop control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.
Ensure designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g. BS EN, Machinery Directive, PUWER).
Support the integration of new equipment and modifications to existing machinery.
Liaise with mechanical engineers, project managers, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
Provide technical support during build, installation, and commissioning phases.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within industrial automation, machinery, or food packaging environments.
Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (EPLAN P8 or AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
Strong understanding of electrical standards, machine safety, and CE/UKCA compliance.
Experience producing detailed schematics, panel designs, and documentation packs.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
