CMM Inspector

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CMM Inspector to join a high precision manufacturing environment. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure components are inspected accurately against engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances, while supporting production through robust and efficient inspection processes. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and ensuring manufacturing activities are not delayed.

Rate: Up to GBP20/hour (DOE)

Hours of Work

39 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 6:45am to 3:30pm, Friday: 7:00am to 1:00pm

Key Responsibilities

Inspect components using CMM equipment and manual inspection methods.

Adjust and prove out CMM inspection programmes.

Operate multiple CMM machines when required.

Carry out first–off, in–process and final inspections against engineering requirements.

Identify and escalate quality issues to the relevant quality or production teams.

Complete and maintain accurate inspection documentation, including control plans, critical feature records and FAIR documentation.

Raise non–conformance reports and support corrective action investigations.

Review supplier documentation and carry out manual inspection activities where required.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Minimum of three years' experience within a high precision manufacturing environment.

Ability to create and adjust CMM inspection programmes.

Strong understanding of CMM inspection best practice.

Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable

Experience using Mitutoyo CMMs with COSMOS software.

Experience using PC–DMIS.

Experience writing CMM programmes.
