Category Buyer – Indirect Procurement

Location: Desford, Leicester

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for procurement and supplier management? We're looking for a Category Buyer to lead and execute indirect purchasing strategies that drive value across quality, cost, logistics, development, and management.

What You’ll Be Doing

Develop and manage category strategies for indirect procurement.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, inventory optimization, and quality improvements.

Serve as the key liaison between internal teams and suppliers, ensuring clear and effective communication.

Monitor supplier performance and foster strong, collaborative relationships.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contract specifications.

What We’re Looking For

Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, business, or a related field.

Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools and techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic understanding of negotiation, contracts management, and strategic sourcing.

Working knowledge of procurement systems and supplier relationship management.
