Description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Support

Location: Shoreham

Pay: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Do you have a nurturing approach and a passion for helping primary children with special educational needs thrive in their learning journey?

GSL Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse learning needs at a caring primary school in Shoreham.

The Role You'll work closely with children aged 4-11 who may experience:

Autism Spectrum Conditions and sensory processing needs

Speech and language difficulties

Learning disabilities and developmental delays

ADHD and attention challenges

Your focus will be on creating inclusive learning experiences, building confidence, and helping each child access the primary curriculum at their own pace.

You'll Be:

Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups across Key Stage 1 & 2

Helping children engage with literacy, numeracy, and creative subjects

Using visual aids, communication tools, and sensory resources

Working alongside class teachers and SENCO

Creating a supportive, structured learning environment

We're Looking For:

Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN

A patient, creative and encouraging approach

Someone who's comfortable with diverse learning needs

Team player with strong communication skills

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Makaton, PECS, sensory regulation training, or similar are a bonus—but not essential.
